最初我是被螃蟹和田鸡所吸引的可是她也推荐说鱉/水魚也是不可错过的
我们就去试试咯 ~

first i was attracted by the crabs and frogs in her blog and she also recommended the waterfish
so here we go ~
很特别的店名...
根据店主所说以前他小的时候那是他的花名
"西公"是福建话也就是光头的意思
他也说在槟城也有一家叫老西公的饭店不同的是那家饭店的主厨都是女性
a very unique name...
according to the shop owner that was his nickname when he was small
"sai gong" is in Hokkien which is used to describe bald/skin head
he told us that in Penang there is also a Sai Gong Restaurant but the difference is all the chef are ladies ~
虽然板上都写明了菜单
可是我们都没去看因为主要的几样菜肴在看过 teckiee 的部落格我早就记了起来...

免费的列汤 ~ 西洋菜汤:
汤很清也很够味....
Soup of the day ~ Watercress soup
this is served FOC before the food
the soup is clear and flavoursome while not oily at all...
清炒菜胆 (RM6):
很够锅气
可惜菜比较老了点...
Stir-fried brussel sprouts (RM6):
with "wok hei" but we find the veggie too old...
三杯田鸡 (RM22):
妈妈说三杯的意思是用一杯醬油、一杯米酒和一杯麻油煮成的
田鸡很多肉而肉都很有弹性
不可以错过哦 ~
Three-Cup Frog (RM22):
according to mum this is cooked with a cup of soya sauce, a cup of rice wine and a cup of sesame oil...
look at the frog ~ so fresh and the meat is succulent and bouncy... yummy !!
a must try...
油浸马友鱼 (RM27):
这鱼也煮得很好吃
外层香脆里面却鲜美多汁...
Deep fried Treadfin/Ikan Kurau (RM27):
this fish is also very delicious with crispy outer layer and juicy meat inside...
瓦煲鱉/水魚 (RM50):
最好吃的!!
这里的瓦煲水魚煮得很好吃
我们最喜欢的是水魚裙
可是水魚肉比较多
每只水魚的裙不多可是却是最好吃的地方 ~
Clay pot turtle/waterfish (RM50):
this is best of the best !!
the waterfish is so tasty... we love the waterfish "skirt"
however not many pieces were found as a waterfish only have limited "skirt" and that is the most delicious part of the waterfish ~
椰汁虾 (RM24):
虾很好味...
很有奶油的味道可是却叫着椰汁虾
就如 teckiee 的部落格里的螃蟹一样的煮法
是用牛奶和奶油煮得很像椰汁的味道所以店主就用椰汁来命名...
Coconut Prawns (RM24):
this prawn is also flavoursome...
tasted very buttery but wonder why it is named coconut prawns
probably the same style of cooking as the crab in teckiee's blog
look at the gravy ~ thick and yummy
姜葱啦啦 (RM12):
很后悔叫了这个
啦啦不新鲜而这种炒法的酱粘粘的...
我们都不喜欢
Stir-fried clams with ginger and spring onion (RM12):
we dun like this as the clams are not fresh and this is fried with lots of sticky brown sauce... eeeeee.....
清蒸螃蟹 (RM46):
下了很多姜丝和蛋白
螃蟹新鲜, 大只又多肉...
很肯定不是泥蟹因为壳都不太厚和硬
很好吃 ~
Steamed crab with egg white (RM46):
the crab is fresh, big and meaty...
definately not those mud crab with super hard shell
so delicious ~

i saw this restaurant before but never try it! the farm frog look smooth and fat. Will take note for it!
i like water fish! and i would like to try the fish lo.
there's another sai gong at bdr menjalara...wonder if they are related..anyway, the 3 cups frog looks delicious..in fact, all the dishes go well with rice...nice!
wow...the coconut prawns and steamed crab look soooo delicious..
All the dishes looks good, particularly the froggies! Teckie been raving about the waterfish here but yet to bring us there. I tried one...geli leh. The 'skirt' is the gelatinous part issit?

u might fall in love with the waterfish since it is being cut into bite size of meat, if nobody tells u that the meat is waterfish u wont know, it tastes like chicken but more tender...
yeap, the "skirt" is the jelly part, bouncy to the bite, dad said eat more and no wrinkles hahahaaa..... yummy ~ ^_^
