Izzi @ Uptown, PJ

晚餐 @ 八打灵再也 Uptown 的 Izzi
同事说这家餐馆的意大利面很好吃
而这个月的优惠是所有消费超过 RM50 都有 50% 折扣
我们就趁着这个机会尝尝这里的食物咯 ~ Photobucket

Heard from my colleague that they served very good pasta and they are having the 50% discount for total bill above RM50 for the whole of January 2008
So we decided to try it out ~

除了意粉和薄饼也有其它亚洲国家的美食...
Other than Pasta and Pizza they also served Asian food...




我们也发觉了这个...
We noticed this...





除了各式各样的蛋糕法國甜點(杏仁小圓餅?) 一个 RM2.80
摆放在橱里的有三种口味...
可惜我们吃太饱了没试到他家的甜品
Other than cakes they also served macaroons at RM2.80/pc
there were three different flavours on display...
we were too full after the food so din order any dessert this round

旁边有一壶温热的牛奶
要加多少就自己决定咯
Hot Chocolate (RM8.80):
This is how it is being served...
a jar of warm milk is provided so you can add as little or as much as you want



不小心下太多牛奶了...
味道变得太淡了
Oops... i think we poured too much milk...
so the taste is kinda out Photobucket





今日之汤 ~ 蘑菇汤 (RM7.80):
味道不错只是我们觉得汤比较稠了点
Soup of the Day ~ Cream of Mushroom (RM7.80):
tasty and flavoursome but a little too thick for our liking







海鲜薄饼 (RM29.80):
中型的切成六片...
薄薄的饼上有着厚厚的乳酪, 虾和青口/淡菜
虾很新鲜可是青口却味道怪怪的应该是不新鲜了
Marinara Pizza (RM29.80):
Regular size which is cut into six slices...
very thin crust with lots of cheese, prawns and mussels
the prawns are very fresh but the mussels are not fresh and tasted weird







蒜茸辣椒鲜虾意粉 (RM19.80):
当晚算是最好吃的主菜了
意粉QQ的而虾又大只又新鲜 Photobucket
Prawn Linguine with Garlic & Red Chilli (RM19.80):
Linguine pasta, garlic, olive oil, red chilli, basil and prawns
Probably the best dish of the night... for us
the Linguine are perfectly done while the prawns are big and fresh




海鲜意粉 (RM18.80):
用的料有: 虾, 青口/淡菜 和夏南瓜
酱料很酸带点辣...
zucchini: 中文為"節瓜"或是"夏南瓜",這是一種在歐洲常見蔬菜,一般多用為清炒及煮湯跟台灣一般常見的黃瓜不同處是在於"不用削皮",在味道上沒有黃瓜的刺鼻味,味道較為清淡且烹煮過後口感還是脆脆的。
Seafood Penne (RM18.80):
Penne served with prawns, mussels and zucchini in a Napoletana sauce
very sour and a little spicy...



一共有四只新鲜的大虾和很多的青口/淡菜...
可惜的是青口的味道怪怪的很难吃
There are four succulent prawns and lots of mussels in this main...
but unfortunately the mussels are not fresh





蘑菇意粉 (RM18.80):
用的是鲜蘑菇和奶油酱
味道不错 ~
Fettucinni Con Funghi (RM18.80):
Fettuccini served with mushroom in a white cream sauce
creamy and flavoursome ~ Photobucket





炸乌贼 (RM14.80):
其实是前菜来的
可是我们都差不多要吃完了才送来
很油很咸
沾了那泰式辣椒酱才稍微好一点
那个餐牌里提到的 izzi 酱没见到...
Deep Fried Calamari (RM14.80):
Deep fried calamari with seasoning flour served with Bangkok sauce and izzi dressing sauce
Supposed to be appetizer but served after all our mains... Photobucket
We find it too oily and salty but with the Thai chili sauce it tastes much better
oh... no izzi dressing sauce as per the menu

我们从餐牌里选了主菜
而前菜和甜品是自助式的
之前已经发过关于前菜和甜品 大致上都没什么不同
这一次就只发这一款我觉得蛮特别又好吃的主菜... Photobucket
Buffet Dinner @ Sudu, KL Hilton
As usual we choose our mains from the menu while the appetisers and desserts are served buffet style ~
Since i had posted earlier on the buffet appetizers and some desserts
this round only on a main which i find quite exciting and delicious...



烟熏三文鱼 (RM89):
当我在餐牌里看到这款主菜时觉得很好奇... 烟熏三文鱼和蕎麥面的主菜? Photobucket
就问了招待员那是不是切片的烟熏三文鱼然后放在蕎麥面上?
他说不是...不是, 是一大块的三文鱼
一大块的烟熏三文鱼? 我还是想象不到...
原来是这个样子的 ~
Smoked Salmon (RM89):
When i read about this in the menu i was very curious... "smoked salmon" with soba as a main ?
so i asked the waiter if they come in slices on the soba
and he said no, no, no... it is a big piece of salmon
erm... big piece of SMOKED SALMON ? i still can't imagine it...
so this is how it looks like ~




厨师说... 这一大块的三文鱼是烟熏制的
鱼块下面是沙拉, 上面是蕎麥面和海苔
烟熏制的三文鱼块外表干干的鱼皮有些脆
而里面的鱼肉是美味多汁的哦 ~
The salmon is smoked... according to the chef
serve with some salad at the bottom of the salmon and topped with some soba with seaweed
the salmon is dry on the outside with slightly crispy skin
while the meat is juicy and delicous ~ Photobucket

法國歌劇院蛋糕 (RM11.50):
巧克力的爱好者肯定会喜欢 ~
這款精緻的法國千層蛋糕由本世紀六十年代一位名廚加斯頓里昂雷(Gaston Lenore) 首創, 那時候通常在歌劇上演的間場時間供觀眾享用。

What is Opera cake?
There are many stories about the origins of this cake, known as both Clichy cake and Opéra cake. Many believe that Louis Clichy was its creator because he premiered the gâteau, with his name written across the top, at the 1903 Exposition Culinaire in Paris. It became the signature cake of Clichy's shop on the Boulevard Beaumarchais. However, another pastry shop, Dalloyau, sold a very similar dessert, known as L'Opéra (in honor of the Paris Opera), and some claim that theirs was the original.

While another story i found from the internet says: The opera cake was created in the 1960s by the well-known French pastry chef Gaston Lenôtre. The marriage between opera and desserts is a daily reality in a number of great opera houses. At New York's Metropolitan Opera for instance, the well-to-do dine with refinement at the in-house restaurant before the show. At the first bell, the music lovers are careful to reserve their dessert for the first intermission!

To sum it up: this is a wonderfully rich combination of delicate almond biscuit or joconde, chocolate ganache, coffee buttercream, and chocolate glaze. It's like a very refined layer cake.

In English ~ Black Heart... a very pretty cake
two reasons for me to choose this
first the outlook of it and second the shining dark chocolate
i love dark chocolate...

旧街场白咖啡 ~ Old Town White Coffee (2)

又到 Kota Damansara 的旧街场白咖啡去 ~

一样的浓郁...
Old Town White Coffee (RM2.20):
no complaints...





旧街场特色椰浆饭 (RM5.80):
有一块炸鸡
不是我们喜欢的传统式炸鸡
炸得很干很脆可是外层也很硬
Old Town Nasi Lemak Special (RM5.80):
this special serves with a piece of deep fried chicken
not the traditional fried chicken that we like
it is very dry and crispy so a bit hard on the outside





旧街场虾面 (RM5.50):
味道不错虽然没 海天茶餐室 的好吃
却比 老李 的有味道
Old Town Prawn Mee (RM5.50):
Flavoursome eventhough not as good as the one we find at O&S
more flavour than the one we had at Pak Li Kopitiam





旧街场咖哩面 (RM5.50):
很好吃可是也很油腻...
虽然之前已经告诉他们不要下太多油了
Old Town Curry Mee (RM5.50):
very tasty but too oily for our liking... even though we have asked for less oil




我们觉得每一家旧街场白咖啡分行的食物都不一样水准...
比如说位于 Alam Suria 的咖哩面就不油腻, 而 32 Square 的虾面和怡保鸡丝河粉却淡而无味 ~
We find that food served at all the Old Town White Coffee Kopitiams varied...
for example the curry mee served at the one located in Alam Suria is not as oily as this, while the one at 32 Square serves tasteless prawn mee and Ipoh hor fun ~

海外天大饭店 ~ Restoran Oversea (Imbi) Sdn Bhd

到燕美律的海外天大饭店吃晚餐 ~
应该算是一家老字号的饭店了...

豉油皇干煎虾碌 (RM54):
很新鲜的淡水虾
虾肉很甜很有弹性
Fresh Water Prawns with Dark Soya Sauce (RM54):
The prawns are very fresh...with sweet and succulent meat



竟然被我吃到又大又鲜美的虾羔!! Photobucket
and i was so surprised to find the bright red and solid prawn roe, yummy!!







圣瓜豆腐 (RM12):
这里的招牌菜
豆腐很软又很够味...
Signature Beancurd (RM12):
one of the must-order dish
the beancurd is soft and flavoursome...





清蒸顺壳鱼 (RM68.40):
很失望哦...
鱼肉有点软没有我们喜欢的弹性...
应该是不超过 3公斤被开边的顺壳鱼
Steamed Soon Hock (RM68.40):
We were quite disappointed with this Soon Hock fish
the meat is soft and not those solid and bouncy type...
must be a small fish below 3kg





姜茸魭鱼 (RM18):
也是这里的招牌菜哦 ~
姜和蒜都是粗粗的和别的餐厅做的不一样
非常的好吃哦... Photobucket
Steamed Grass Carp (RM18):
Another signature dish at Oversea ~
the ginger and garlic are chopped rather than blend-till-smooth type
very different from those we get every where else...
this is absolutely delicious
