Specials of Penang

不是一个我们常去吃午餐的地方
可是今天因为SM要去办点事我们三个就跟着去咯...
在 State 想找停车位真的是超难的除非真的非常幸运
所以为了不浪费时间我们直接把车停在多层式的停车场就在 Menara MPPJ 附近
走了不久就决定到 Specials of Penang "槟城特选" 去
CN 说星报刚在周末介绍了这家餐厅 ~
Not our favourite area for lunch but doesn't mean that we dun go there at all
for this particular day since our SM needs to run some errands there
three of us just hopped in to go find lunch...
Parking is never easy near State so we parked at the multi-level carpark near Menara MPPJ and walk round before deciding to eat at Specials of Penang
Apparently The Star features this restaurant over the weekend according to CN ~

饮料 ~
玫瑰糖浆+奶的 Air Bandung (RM2.50), 凉粉 (RM2.50) 和玫瑰糖浆+蓬蒿籽 (RM2):

Air Bandung (RM2.50), Cinchao (RM2.50) and Rose Syrup with Basil seeds (RM2):



这我也不太清楚叫什么...蓬蒿籽?
而那青蛙蛋似的粒粒很好嚼
so... Basil seeds = selasih:
like to chew on the seeds which look very similar to frog eggs...





槟城淋面 (RM5):
卖像不错只是面条不是粗的
味道还好...
Penang Lam Mee (RM5):
not bad looking but not the usually fatty yellow noodle is used
taste not too bad...





槟城炒粿条 (RM5.50):
因为很快就送了上来所以可能是事先炒好的而且没烟的...
炒粿条的味道不错有虾和很多鱼饼和鸡肉
可是没有鲜蛤...
虽然这是有辣椒的一点都不辣
Penang Char Koay Teow (RM5.50):
erm... we suspect this is the ready fried type as this is being served pretty quickly and without smoke
the fried koay teow is tasty with prawns and lots of fish cake and chicken slices
but no cockles...
even though this is with chili version it is not spicy at all





峇峇套餐 (RM9.90):
就是白饭, 冷当牛肉, 鱿鱼炒和三峇乌贼
三峇乌贼少得可怜而鱿鱼炒就太湿 了
冷当牛肉很好味
Baba Set (RM9.90):
comes with rice, beef rendang, jiu hoo char and sambal sotong
the sambal sotong is kinda pathetic... while we find the jiu hoo char too wet
however the beef is tender and flavoursome





亚叁叻沙 (RM5.50):
和报章上的照片有很大的分别
是碗太大了? 还是份量太少了?
味道是带辣的
同事说很少鱼...
Assam Laksa (RM5.50):
look very different from the picture featured in the newspaper
it is either the bowl is too big or the portion kinda small...
taste wise not too bad on the spicy side
according to my colleague very little fish
