端午节 @ 大人餐厅 ~ Dumpling Festival @ Restoran Esquire Kitchen

端午节又快到了吧...
大人餐厅推出了三种粽子
可惜当天有红豆馅的碱水粽卖完了我们没试到
It's going to be Dumpling Festival soon...
there are three types of dumplings available at Esquire Kitchen
however the alkaline dumpling with red bean paste filling was sold out during our visit







上海粽 (RM5.80):
糯米饭里有咸蛋, 猪肉和蚝干
味道不错...
我们觉得料少了点
Shanghai Zong (RM5.80):
Glutinous rice dumpling with salted egg, pork and dried mussel
it is flavoursome...
but we expected more ingredients in this







广东粽 (RM5.20):
不一样的形状...
Guang Dong Zong (RM5.20):
different in shape...



用料有咸蛋, 猪肉和栗子
少了我喜欢的眉豆 (也叫着 豇豆 )
味道不会太咸
吃起来会有点干 可能用的猪肉不够肥...
this rice dumpling is with salted egg, pork and chestnut
without my fav black-eyed pea a.k.a. cowpea
tasted just right not too salty
but a little dry at the inside probably due to the piece of pork which is too lean...Photobucket

大人餐厅的咸蛋酥 (RM1.30):
松软的莲蓉馅
酥皮虽然很脆却有点硬
不会油腻或是太甜
我们都很喜欢!
Esquire Kitchen's Salted Egg Pie (RM1.30):
with soft lotus paste
the pastry is a little hard but very crispy
and it is not oily or too sweet
we like it very much!



切开来看很像月饼...
halved it and it looks like mooncake...

味道普通而已...
Fried Koay Teow (RM5):
tasted so-so only...





巴堤雅炒饭 (RM4.50):
不怎么'原装' 因为煎蛋都没把饭包着
这个比较像毯子... 盖在炒饭上
炒饭味道不错 有点辣
Nasi Pattaya (RM4.50):
not quite original as the omelette did not wrap the rice completely
it is more like a blanket...
the fried rice is tasty and a little spicy





Kurau Acar Fried Rice (RM7):
辣炒饭配炸鸡和煎蛋
饭炒得很香又够味 炸鸡块也很好吃
配那叁巴好好味!
served with fried chicken and fried egg
the fried rice is flavoursome and the fried chicken in small pieces are very delicious too
the sambal is tasty too !Photobucket







炸辣鸡肯 (RM4):
香脆又带辣
要趁热吃...
Spicy Gizzie (RM4):
crispy and spicy...
best eaten when it is still hot





什雪 (RM3):
Ice Kacang (RM3):



很多料...
价钱很便宜哦
with lots of ingredients...
for this price we are not complaining





芋头蕃薯糖水 (RM2):
很多芋头和蕃薯块
可惜味道有点酸 我们退掉了...
Bubur Cha Cha (RM2):
lots of yam and sweet potato pieces
but this tasted sourish and we returned it...

我喜欢的猪肉粉档:

猪肉粉 (RM6):
很多料哦..
有猪肉丸, 肉碎丸, 猪肉片, 猪肠, 猪肝, 猪腰子和菜心
再撒上猪油渣...
用的河粉很透明也很滑 ~
Pork Noodle (RM6):
with lots of ingredients: pork balls, minced pork balls, pork slices, intestines, pork liver, pork kidney and veggie served with hor fun and topped with fried pork lard pieces
the hor fun used is translucent and very smooth...




这是面线的:
每一碗都是个别煮的
我还是比较喜欢用瓷碗盛的... 比较保温啊
this is the mee suah version...
each bowl is cooked individually and the soup is flavoursome
however i still prefer them to be served in ceramic bowls...
which will keep the soup warm till the end





鱼皮云吞 (RM5):
云吞面档的...
就是用鱼滑做成云吞皮 再包入猪肉馅
我们觉得 SS2 的比较好吃 ~
Fish Wanton (RM5):
from the wanton noodle store
the wanton skin is made from fish paste with minced pork filling
but we find the one in SS2 tastes better....

大概一口可以吃掉一个
香脆的酥 皮味道不错
这迷你蛋挞和我 之前在 PJ 常买的 一样
只是不知道为什么那家停止营业了

they are about bite size and tasted pretty good with flaky pastry
the same mini egg tarts i used to buy from PJ which is no longer available

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts @ Berjaya Time Square

今天收到的 mms...
朋友的男朋友趁午餐时间去买了半打的甜甜圈给她
还是刚开张的Krispy Kreme Doughnuts 哦 star
First i received this via mms...
someone bought half a dozen of Krispy Kreme doughnuts for his girl friend during lunch time








我马上就回复说: 我要, 我要!
几个小时之后...
另一位朋友下班时送了这过来 ~
and my immediate reply is i want, i want!!
a few hours later...
someone else did the office hopping and this is what i get ~ Photobucket




Hershey's Cookie & Cream :
甜甜圈上先是一层糖浆再铺上 Hershey's Cookie & Cream 巧克力块
我们发觉甜甜圈本身是带甜的...
已经是甜的巧克力再加上糖浆 = 超甜的!
Topped of with a coating of rich kreme icing and sprinkle cookies all over...
we realised that the doughtnut itself is sweeten
and with cookie & cream chocolate chunks on sweet icing = super sweet!





Powdered Strawberry Filled:
撒上糖粉的圆形甜甜圈里面是草莓果酱
果酱也很甜哦...
The yeast-raised shell is jam packed with strawberry jam filling and coated with a light dusting of powdered sugar
the strawberry jam is very sweet too...




价钱是根据口味 RM2.50 和 RM2.80
Prices are ranging RM2.50 and RM2.80 depending on flavours ~

乡音乡肴文化晚宴 ~ A night of culture and food

星期六在天后宫举行的一个晚宴 ~
由马来西亚七大乡团协调委员会主办
也就是: 马来西亚广西总会,马来西亚潮洲公会联合会, 马来西亚三江总会, 马来西亚广东会馆联合会, 马来西亚福建社团联合会, 马来西亚海南会馆联合会和马来西亚客家公会联合会
而每一个乡团都提供了最少一个菜式...
We attended a dinner at Tian Hou Temple on Saturday
it is jointly organised by 7 Chinese associations with different culture and dialects
namely Guangxi, Teochew, San Kiang, Kwang Tung, Hokkien, Hainan and Hakka
and each presented a dish for this dinner ~

在宴会进行中时的文化表演:
During the dinner there are some cultural shows:









开胃菜是福州迷你佛跳墙
可惜料很少之外 汤非常的淡
我忘记了要拍照片
The starter is "Buddha Jump over the wall"
it tasted very bland and i forgotten totally about taking a picture of it



广西酿豆腐卜:
Guangxi Tou Pok with stuffing:



一个的份量比汤匙还大:
豆腐卜很软滑
猪肉葱花馅很够味... 好好吃
it is quite big in size:
the tou pok is silky soft while the minced meat and spring onions stuffing is delicious





海南炖羊腩:
味道浓郁...
除了羊腩还有腐竹和黑木耳
下了很多姜 汤不带骚味
Hainan Lamb Stew:
very thick and flavoursome soup
other than lamb pieces there are also foo-chok and black fungus in the soup
with lots of ginger
the soup does not taste "lamby"



配羊肉吃的超级辣酱料:
Served with super spicy chili sauce:





广东干贝扣津白:
津白煮得软软的 干贝的味道恰恰好
Kwang Tung white cabbage with dried scallops:
the cabbage is soft and yummy





客家盐焗鸡:
从怡保送来的哦
每张桌都有两只
鸡肉很嫩也很够味!
Hakka Salt Baked Chicken:
all the way from Ipoh...
two chicken per table
the chicken is tender and flavoursome!





潮洲清蒸鲳鱼没拍到照片
当时因为台上有表演 灯都灭了
新鲜的鲳鱼是从槟城运来的
可惜弄得不好吃
鱼吃起来的味道像是被热水烫过的...
Teowchew Steamed Fish no photo too
as they served the fish during the cultural show with lights out
the fresh pomfrets were delivered all the way from Penang
however it was not done properly
the fish tasted boiled instead of steamed



福建海参猪手:
味道不错 猪手够松软 海参却有点嚼劲
Hokkien Pork Knuckle with Sea Cucumber:
this is pretty good too...
the pork knuckle is tender while the sea cucumber is springy



要来沾酱汁吃的白米糕...
The pork knuckle is served with this steamed rice cakes:





三江八宝饭:
很特别的饭
糯米饭上有很多红色和青色的樱桃, 葡萄干, 红枣, 蓮子等等...
而饭中间还有一团红豆馅
很好吃 ~
San Kiang Eight Treasure Glutinous Rice:
a very interesting rice dish...
the glutinous rice is topped with lots of red and green cherries, raisins, red dates, lotus seed etc
and in the middle of the rice is red bean paste...
this is very delicious too ~





潮洲芋泥:
芋泥比较稀很软 而白果却很硬
Teowchew Yam Dessert:
we find this too soft and runny and the ginko nuts are too hard...
